Russian Ark was not interesting. Period. The film follows a boring and convoluted plot, but fortunately, the story is probably the last reason someone would watch this film. The reason most would watch this would be the logistical coordination of thousands of extras, multiple languages within the crew, and more than anything, the implementation of a 96 minute glidecam shot. This is a revolutionary film in its technical aspects, making the behind-the-scenes featurette included on the DVD much more interesting than the actual film.
