A real film in that it deals with real issues in a relatively realistic manner. The path this film takes is in ways much too complicated, but conversely adds a legitimate and genuine feel. The soundtrack is odd in some scenes, but adds dramatic emotion in others. Being Audrey Tautou's first english-speaking film, I won't be too hard on her, but I will have to double check that she's a decent actress in Amelie... In the end, Dirty Pretty Things was rough around the edges, but contained a piece worthy of my respect and admiration.
