The Bounty Hunter is a direct realization of the quasi-romantic relationship-centered action film sub-genre, epitomized by Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Though the last thing I want to do is delve into the lives of Brangelina and Jennirard (or whatever common combination of Gerard and Jennifer they use), it almost seems as if Aniston wanted to exact revenge, or somehow prove she could up the film that led her boy toy Pitt to fall in love with Jolie. Real-life romance aside, this film provided nothing unexpected, falling into mundanity rather than exciting banter between these two successful actors. This film, however was not meant to be avant-garde, it was not meant to be the next Oscar winner, but it was meant to entertain, and not even I can deny that it achieved that. The Bounty Hunter made me laugh, and here and there I felt a twinge of suspense, but despite these moments, the strongest feeling it evoked in me was my desire to rewatch Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
